Dog tags expire annually on December 31. Residents who own dogs have until March 1 of each year to purchase a dog tag and/or to update their information. If a renewal application is not received by March 1, a renewal notice will be sent stating all outstanding balances. If the outstanding balanace remains after April 15, the outstanding balance will be added to the tax roll.
The Township of Woolwich Animal Control By-law requires that every dog must wear a dog tag when off of the property of the owner of the dog and have an up-to-date rabies vaccination. Dog tags expire on December 31st of each year.

The collection of this information is being done under the authority of the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001c.25, pursuant to Sections 10 and 11, for the purpose of enforcing the Animal Control By-law. This information may be provided to a third party for the purpose of animal control services as well as Humane Societies.
